In His words:
“Everybody did well. The goal was coming. When I see what happened in the first half, perhaps I wouldn’t start with the same team because Kelechi Iheanacho wasn’t fit,” Rohr explained.
This could be justified after Kelechi Iheanacho lost a clear and open chance for the Super Eagles of Nigeria to take an early lead in the game against Argentina.
Rohr also claimed the problem could have been that the Nigerian side had one day less than the Argentines to prepare for the match. In His words;
“We did so well. We had the problem of having one day less than Argentina to prepare. Perhaps, at the end of the match, that was dangerous.”
This could be an huge factor on the preparation of any team.
The Lionel Messi side had less clear chances to have won the match but only took advantage of every goal scoring opportunity they had in the game, this lead to their victory in the 84th minute of the match when the Nigerian team could have thought they had it all under control.
According to analysis, of every goal scoring chance that was lost by the Nigerian side was an opportunity for the Argentina players in which they converted and lead to their their victory.
The Argentines side had every of their goal scored after Nigeria might have lost their goal scoring chance in the game.
Clear analysis have proven that the officiating referee proved bias after annulling several fouls committed against the Nigerian side. They was over 3+ penalty worthy fouls and lots of free kick he could have awarded to the Nigerian side which he overlooked.
Many have blamed the referee, but the Nigerian side could have not put blames on the officiating referee if they took perfect advantages of their clear chances to score and win the match.
Though the technology has been earlier seen as a problem solver, the fact still remains it is not perfect as it is still being decided by humans [ set of referees inside the FIFA War room ].
The referee already awarded the penalty after his judgement was influenced by the officials overseeing the VAR.
End of the Road
The Nigerian side have been spotted earlier today leaving their team hotel in Russia heading back to Nigeria to prepare for 2022 if they qualify.
Good luck to every Team that have played and those still playing in the ongoing FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia.
