Oyebode, Akinteriwa criticise INEC for shifting polls

Two renowned academics, Prof. Prof. Akin Oyebode, and Prof. Bola Akinteriwa, have criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for postponing the general elections.

Oyebode, a teacher of International Law and Jurisprudence, said on Saturday that the postponement of the polls few hours to the commencement of the Presidential and National Assembly polls was tragic.

He said in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday that: “The postponement of the polls by INEC is a tragedy more so as it is not unprecedented.“Like Karl Marx opined, the first time history repeats itself, it is a tragedy while the next time, it is a farce.
