World Cup: Team Nigeria against the NFF Special Forces

Nigerians expectations from Team Nigeria against the NFF Board special forces making decisions for team and its management.

After much hope on Nigeria emerging 2018 FIFA World cup champions holding in Russia, we are still uncertain what to expect from the Super eagles.

The team have since played several friendlies and have only won one of their matches ( against Argentina ). all lost matches clearly not some good signs of greater hopes at the world cup, but fans have said the team have been performing well in all their matches ( only that winning hasn’t been on their side ).

TEAM NIGERIA

The super eagles team consists of players who have participated in some of the world’s most recognized leagues ( English premier league, Champions League, Europa cup and likes ) and a lot is being expected from this players in the team.

The team’s 23 Man squadIkechukwu Ezenwa (Enyimba), Francis Uzoho (Deportivo La Coruna), Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United), Abdullahi Shehu (Bursaspor), Tyronne Ebuehi (Den Haag), Elderson Echiejile (Brugge), Bryan Idowu (Amkar Perm), Chidozie Awaziem (Nantes), William Ekong (Bursaspor), Leon Balogun (Brighton), Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa), John Obi Mikel (Tianjin TEDA), Ogenyi Onazi (Trabzonspor), Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester), Oghenekaro Etebo (Las Palmas), John Ogu (Hapoel Be’er Sheva), Joel Obi (Torino), Ahmed Musa (Leicester), Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester), Victor Moses (Chelsea), Odion Ighalo (Changchun Yatai), Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Simeon Nwankwo (Crotone).

After few matches and a lot of training / camping together, the team seems ready for the task ahead alongside the leadership of coach Gernot Rohr and his assistants.

THE NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation has been a great force with almost 90% effect and impact on the team.

The NFF  has since been a body which is Politically driven among-st other factors contributing to football in the country. Ranging from the body’s governance and the political power from the arm of government overseeing sports in Nigeria.

In recent times, the NFF have been accused of so many issues ranging from money to partial selection with players, this has since defined the body as vulnerable to external forces withing the political sector of the nation.

The forces acting on the NFF could be traced from the election ( probably selection ) of the body’s leadership ( when a man without the knowledge of sports nor have ever contributed to the growth of the country’s football history ) was made head of the body.

The process of power has since been on the negative for the team as the willing players are sometimes not given what is needed to get the job well done.

Enough deviation from team Nigeria; we can only hope and pray that things are done right this times as it has almost a 100% effect on the team’s performance.

Nigeria would be playing Croatia few days from the day of this post ( Saturday, 16th june ) and all than can be hoped for now is a Win from the Nigeria side.

A win for team Nigeria against Croatia is step closer from making it out if the group stages and we hope these expectations from worried fan is met.
